The EuropeanPWN Nice-Côte d’Azur is an international networking, advocacy, information and training forum for management-level women with an international outlook. Our mission is to promote the professional progress of women in business. Founded in 1999, EuropeanPWN Nice-Côte d’Azur is a dynamic organisation of professional women, run entirely by volunteers, representing a wide range of professions in and around Nice. Our current member-base covers the South of France from Toulon to Monaco. EuropeanPWN – Nice-Côte d’Azur is a member of EuropeanPWN.
Crafting your career through Mentoring

On the 28th January 2013, we had a great turnout of members at the event “Crafting your career through Mentoring” with Monique Valcour, the well known Phd Professor of Management at EDHEC. Monique gave an enlightening and inspirational presentation on steps to take to boost job satisfaction, career success and work life balance within the framework of Mentoring. Following her keynote, Deborah Abbott Moulin, the Mentoring Programme Leader, distributed to each table a thought-provoking question on serving the Mentoring cause, such as: What is the difference between a good mentor and a great mentor? Table discussions were opened, after which group discussions were facilitated on the benefits and different formats of Mentoring engagements. The evening was wrapped up with a great number of members signing up to the EPWN Mentoring Programme!

EPWN is actively engaged with Women on Boards and supporting women in corporate positions. Two of our members in Nice, Candace Johnson, leader of the task force that includes Monique Valcour, have reached another milestone with the initiative to establish the Global Board Ready Women (GBRW) searchable database to respond to global corporate governance needs for more gender diversity on company boards in Europe. October 11th Workshop: Managing Workplace Stress with Mindfulness
Our own member, Alison Prideaux, presented this fascinating topic to our members and guests. Alison is a Massage Therapist and also teaches simple meditation techniques to help individuals reconnect their mind and body and learn to live in the present moment. After explaining what it means to live our life in the present and the connections between mind and body. We learned that our limbic system, programmed to help us react appropriately to danger by stimulating the production of Cortisol and other hormones, can become overstimulated by stressful situations leading to a vicious circle of stress induced stress. Anxiety sets in insidiously and can lead over time to illnesses, sleep disorders, attention disorders and states of panic.

On May 29, 2012 the Mentoring Programme kicked off with a Mentoring Welcome
Breakfast on the smart new restaurant terrace of Sophia Antipolis’ Aquatic complex: Nautipolis.
The turnout was a total of 9 engaging women, who brought energy and enthusiasm, thus creating a great start to the Mentoring Platform! Our Mentoring Leader, Deborah Abbott Moulin, delivered a presentation, whilst interaction was encouraged through trigger questions. More .
